Fly Me to the Moon (원제 “In Other Words”)과 그 명곡을 부른 Frank Sinatra에 얽힌 흥미로운 이야기를 들려드릴게요. 🌙✨
원래 제목은 “In Other Words”였지만, 첫 가사 “Fly me to the moon”이 너무 강렬해서 자연스럽게 노래 제목으로 자리잡게 되었어요.
It Might as Well Be Swing
Hello beautiful souls! Today’s journey takes us through the galaxy of romance and swing with the classic Fly Me to the Moon (originally titled “In Other Words”) and its legendary performer Frank Sinatra. 🌌🎤 The song was penned in 1954 by the talented lyricist and composer Bart Howard in what he described as “20 minutes of inspiration after 20 years of trying.” While it began life as “In Other Words”, the phrase “Fly me to the moon” carried such weight that it became the de-facto title. The real magic, however, happened in 1964 when Sinatra teamed up with Count Basie and arranger Quincy Jones to create a vibrant swing version on the album It Might as Well Be Swing. This recording launched the song into a timeless classic. And here’s where it transcends music: there are stories that the tune went into space! During NASA’s Apollo missions, “Fly Me to the Moon” was reportedly part of the astronauts’ cassette playlists, orbiting the moon with them. Whether you believe the full legend or not, the imagery of swing rhythms and lunar dreams tied together is simply irresistible. On “팝송힐러” you’ll see both the original English lyrics and the Korean translation, so you can sing along and feel the heart of the song. Let’s fly beyond the stars together! 🚀💖
